MAISON K is a destination boutique on East Valley Road, in the heart of Montecito. Since 2002, Kimberly Hayes has curated the assortment for its beauty, craftsmanship and the story it carries: embroidered silk kaftans from Marrakech that catch the California light, one-of-a-kind dowry textiles from Uzbekistan, fine Italian linen for summer dresses, luxurious Mongolian cashmere, and more: a unique collection found nowhere else.

Every season is a new edit, gathered on buying trips through Paris, Istanbul, Morocco, Vietnam and Italy. Nothing shouts. Everything speaks.

The Maison K Collection

Envisioned in Montecito. Crafted in Italy.

What began as a curator's eye has become a designer's hand. In addition to buying ready-to-wear and accessories from resources abroad, Kimberly creates a private label collection. She selects the materials, fabrics and details personally, collaborating with artisan makers in Piedmont, Tuscany and Umbria. Each garment carries the MAISON K label and sensibility that has defined the boutique for over two decades.

Meet Kimberly

Kimberly Hayes

Raised in Santa Barbara, Kimberly studied art history at UC Santa Barbara, before moving to Washington, D.C. and San Francisco. All the while she worked for well-known boutiques and corporate retailers, sourcing product from around the world. Each city, destination and experience shaped her eye: for beauty, for craftsmanship, for the way a fine object or adornment can enhance one's life and bring joy.

After years away, she returned home to open MAISON K in 2002. The boutique quickly became a destination for collectors, tastemakers and people who appreciate fine and unique things. Her private label followed. Alongside it sit ready-to-wear collections and Astier de Villatte ceramics, as well as many one-of-a-kind finds from her travels: vintage kaftans from Marrakech, embroidered dusters from Istanbul, hand-loomed shawls from Nepal, and more.
